Cocoa Pouch Envelope Tutorial

LOL!!! I made a video!!! LOL!!! Ok you guys - don't be too hard on me! There's a lot of "next" in here and shadows...I'll know I've made it to the big time when I have a video guy behind that camera! Maybe my IT Hottie can help me - HEE HEE! Just kiddin'...I don't think my husband would think too much of that!

So I had to do this all myself - ya know??? I think it's OK and I know they'll get better as soon as I know what I'm doing!

Get your popcorn, paper cutter and envelope and ENJOY!

1. Place envelope face down at bottom of paper cutter;
2. Cut at 4 1/4";
3. Cut off flap;
4. Slide to top of cutter and score at 3 3/4";
5. Cut off bottom corner from score to edge;
6. Fold scored side to inside;
7. Trim off leftover scored area;
8. Run adhesive on folded in edge and seal envelope.

Oh....and I promise not to say "next" so much "next" time...

Double Gift Box

These little beauties were made with the BIGZ XL Box #2 Die (Item #114518 - $42.95). You're going to die cut 2 boxes and attach them together.

TUTORIAL

1. Die cut two 5 1/2" x 11 pieces of cardstock - one at a time. Remove both tabs as shown below on both pieces - marked with an "X":

2. Fold on all score lines and add Sticky Strip tape on tab on the outside of your box as shown below:

3. Add your Designer Paper now. Tuck the bottom edge flap in first, followed by both sides. Tuck the side ends in as shown:

4. Slide the last flap in as shown:

5. Using the Wide Oval Punch - punch out one hole on the back. Line that up with the other box flap, trace with a pencil and punch that out too.

6. Adhere boxes together with about 3" of Sticky Strip tape at the top edge and the middle of the boxes.

7. Tie a piece of wide ribbon on the "handle"

8. Embellish as desired.

Stamps: Christmas Punch
Ink: Real Red
Cardstock: Merry Moments Designer Series Paper; Old Olive or Real Red; Very Vanilla
Accessories: Box #2 XL BIGZ Die; Wide Oval Punch; Scallop Oval Punch; Large Oval Punch; Double Stitched Real Red Ribbon or Striped Old Olive Grosgrain; Dimensionals

Dimensions:
Real Red or Old Olive - 2 at 5 1/2" x 11”
Front DSP - 1 3/4" x 3 1/2”
Sides DSP - 2 at 1 3/4" x 1 1/8”

Slit Punch Card

1. Insert Slit Punch as far as it will go and punch. Move punch about 1/8" over and punch again. Repeat down the side of your card.

2. Fold over the edge - your card should look like this:

3. This the the back - insert 1" x 5 1/2" strip of Old Olive cardstock in where shown.

4. This s what your card looks like from the front:

5. Line 5 1/2" x 2" strip of Real Red cardstock up with the inside edge of your card. Apply tape where shown and close your card.

6. Insert 2" x 4" layer of Old Olive cardstock into the Petals A Plenty Embossing Folder and run through the Big Shot.

7. Stamp ornament and punch. Attach Gold Elastic Cord to back of ornament with tape and the top of the Old Olive layer. Attach ornament with Dimensionals. Assemble card.

Oval Embossing Tutorial

Normally, when you use an Impressions Folder - this is what you get...an overall impression.

To get a blank oval in the middle, I started with the Ovals Die - Item #114525 $15.95 - and ran a piece of chipboard through the Big Shot. I used the cardboard from the back of a notebook. Then I trimmed my die cut chipboard piece to 4 1/4" x 6 and traced lines on the top and bottom - centering the die cut oval for a 5 1/2" tall card.

It's hard to see...but where the small and medium ovals were cut out....I just taped them in place.

Step 1: Life up both tabs on the Multipurpose Platform and place a piece of cardboard from the back of a pack of Designer Paper in as a shim.

Step 2: Close all tabs on the Multipurpose Platform

Step 3: Place Oval Template on top of Tab 1

Step 4: Place cardstock inside folder

Step 5: Close folder and center on top of oval template

Step 6: Place clear cutting plate on top of embossing folder

Step 7: Run through Big Shot

This is what you get!!!!

Dew Drops

Drop little dots of hot glue on a craft sheet. You can get these in the baking section of the store by the parchment paper. TIP: After you squeeze out a little hot glue, swirl your glue gun right over the dot to avoid the strings/webs of glue.

Paint your glue dots with pearlized fingernail polish.

Adhere glue dots to your project with any type of glue or mini glue dots.

Ric Rac Instructions

One of my favorite things about punches involves being able to use them to create things other than what they were initially intended for....with that being said - here is a tutorial on making Ric Rac with the Scallop Edge Punch!

Holding your punch upside down - place your 7/8" strip of cardstock in and line it up so you are starting by punching a "full" scallop as shown below. Punch out the whole edge.

I like to hold my cardstock like this to stabilize it:

Now place the unpunched edge in your punch and start with a half scallop as shown below.

Again, hold onto your strip to help stabilize it.

Secret Reveal Card Tutorial

Ingredients:
Stamps: Classy & Fabulous; Doodle This
Ink: Pixie Pink; Basic Black
Cardstock: Whisper White; Basic Black; Pixie Pink
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch; Black Gingham Ribbon; Pixie Pink Marker; Scallop Circle Punch; 1 ¼ Circle Punch

Dimensions:
Front Panel: 5 ½ x 6 1/8 - score at 4 ¼ along the 5 ½ edge
Inside Panel: 5 ½ x 11 – score at 4 and 7 ½ on the 5 ½ edge
Black top strip: 7/8 x 5 ½
Bottom Ric Rac: 1 x 5 ½
Ribbon: 5”

Card Front - cut 5 1/2" x 6 1/8"

Score at 4 1/4" as shown

Using the 1 1/4" Circle Punch - punch a hole 1 1/4" from the bottom of the layer as shown.

Inside Layer - Cut 5 1/2" x 11"

Score at 4" and 7 1/2" as shown

Fold on score lines as shown. Notice the shorter fold is facing you.

Take your front layer that has the 1 1/4" hole punched in it (picture A) and match it up against the inside layer with the bottom of both pieces being even. Using a pencil - trace the punched hole onto the inside piece.

Fold like shown in the picture below - make sure that the shorter fold is facing you like in picture B above. You are going to punch a 1 1/4" circle in the first 2 layers (not 3) - this is the traced circle that you just did in the step above.

This photo just shows punching through 2 layers.

This is what your inside layer should look like now.

Here's a view of the front cover and the inside layer.

Let's do a dry fit....match the front cover up to the inside layer like shown.

Now you are ready to put it all together. Run your tape runner on each of the three edges shown below. PLEASE NOTE - the tape at the bottom and middle are both on the front panel. Fold the inside layer on all score lines and put the card front right up to it, making sure that you have the bottoms of each piece matched up. Press everything together and WHAAA LAAAA!!!! You can stamp all the images on the card now or you can do it before you start putting it all together.

Here is a guide for the punches. To make the scallop frames, you'll punch the 1 1/4" Circle Punch in a scrap and then center the Scallop Circle Punch over the hole to create your scallop frame.

Don't pay attention to the words on the photo below - we are looking at the piece of cardstock extending down into the circle window - marked by the large black arrow. This may happen, depending on the location of the punched window. Just put your cardstock into your paper cutter and trim off about 1/8" and that will take care of the little problem.

After you have assembled your card - with it closed you will insert the stamped shopping bags/shoes image through all the holes to be adhered to the very back layer. The photo below doesn't show up very well - but you want to make sure you put adhesive on the back of the stamped image so that you cover the top edge completely - if you don't, when you open the card and the secret message tries to come down into the window and it will get stuck on the top edge.
